Lexi has really taken to photography. It is one of her very favorite things to do. She asks me at least once a day if she can take some pictures. Most of the time she wants to take pictures of me...I am not sure why. Here are her latest shots:
I bet you all didn't know that I can balance pineapples on top of my head! (And yes, I am wearing earrings...)
After the photo shoot Lexi had what is becoming her typical daily tantrum. So this is where the young photographer ended up.
Oh well...all artists are tormented, right? So I am just helping her with her creativity.
But seriously, when will these tantrums end? She is so cute and sweet and with the flip of a switch she is wild! Kevin would probably say she is just like her mother! I still could eat her up, though. She will always be my little angel girl. Love you, Lexi!
Enjoying my "mini-me"

This blog is to chronicle my little family's experiences. Hopefully it will help me remember all the little things so my children, husband, and I can look back and enjoy our experiences. **Warning** We lead a fairly boring life (just the way I like it)!

Bible School
We, the kids and I, have started attending Community Bible Study. I think Lexi is having a great time. Her cousin Lyla is in her class, which makes her VERY happy. Max also enjoys his "classroom" as it has LOTS of trucks.
Last week the kids were learning about Isaac and his faith in the Lord to do things Isaac couldn't see. To provide a fun example of this the kids planted grass seeds. I wish I would have taken pictures of the grass seed cup the day we brought it home. But, I am not so great in the photography department. Never the less, Lexi and I have taken a few shots of her grass cup in the past week. She is quite proud of her grass.
This was taken yesterday.
And this one was taken this morning. Grass grows faster than I realized!
While I was making lunch for the little cuties, Max pulled a chair around and put it right next to Lexi. It was so sweet. He just wanted to sit by his big sister, almost made me cry! I couldn't resist taking a few shots of the "love."
I went ahead and let him eat in a "big boy" chair and he did great! Aren't they just so adorable?
Enjoying every moment with my babies,
M

Halloween 2010
Wow! I haven't blogged in almost 2 months! I have been very busy, and just can't seem to find the patience to download my pictures on to my blog. If anyone knows of a super fast way, please let me know!
Halloween has always been a really fun time of year for me. I want my kids to enjoy it as much as I have and still do.
So, we carved pumpkins:
Went trick or treating.
Ate WAY too much candy. Max, especially!
And, I guess Halloween just wasn't enough, because this morning (Nov. 1st), Lexi dressed Max all up again...this time as a spooky pink butterfly. He willingly participated in this event, and I needed proof! I am so glad my kids enjoy each others company. Hope they always do.
All in all it was a pretty great Halloween. Family, fun, and candy...who could ask for more?
Enjoying too much candy,

Dancing Queen
My baby is going to be 3 in a little less than 3 months. Lexi already tells everyone she is 6 as she holds up one whole hand a fingers and her pointer from the other. Oh, lets not rush things, my sweet baby girl!
Here a couple of videos from her first dance class. I am going to brag and say she is the only 2 year old in the 3-4 year old class...she didn't do too bad! I would like to put one of the longer videos up but YouTube was acting up so this is as good as it gets!
And here is just one more of my little entertainer singing for the camera. Lets just say Lexi has no problem performing in front of an audience!

10th Grade - 15 Years Old
Sophomore year...hmmm...well, I think the biggest part of Soph. year was starting drivers ed. We had 2 drivers ed. teachers in my school. Mr. Funk - a little crabby man that I was a little scared of, Mr. Winkler was the teacher to have. He was soooo cute. Coach Winkler is what we all called him, he taught a few classes but was better known for coaching our HS boys basketball team. Back to the story - I was one of the lucky ones that got Coach Winkler. Man o man did I have a crush on him. I swear I daydreamed of him 1/2 the time I was in driver's ed. It is a wonder I passed. My friend Amy and I were driving partners. It was great...we probably looked like such dorks flirting with Coach...oh well, now we just have memories of a great driving experience.
I started golfing my sophomore year. I had never golfed a day in my life (unless you count miniature golf) before I joined the golf team. We had the most awesome coach. Judy Kalkwarf was a great teacher and a huge proponent of trying hard, trying our best, but most importantly of having a good time. We always enjoyed our practices and meets because of her fun and upbeat attitude and her willingness to do everything in her power to make us better golfers.
Hmm...those are probably my 2 biggest memories of my 10th grade year...Oh, I dated a guy named Luke and he put a big white fuzzy monkey in my locker for Valentine's day. It was probably the first and last time I got anything for Valentine's day in high school...probably the last time someone surprised me with a gift on Vday. It was cute.
10th grade was definitely one of my better years. But I guess after 2 kids and a bunch of allergy meds I just can't remember much more...at least not things that are suitable for this blog!!
Enjoying the memories,
M

14 - Yikes
I am a day late on this.
My Freshman year was pretty fun. I joined several clubs that year. French Club, another club, I can't remember the name, but basically it was all about being culturally aware and unified. I was a cheerleader for Football and Basketball.
Towards the end of the football season, I went up to my cousins for the weekend (near Chicago). We went to a haunted house, then go-karting. I broke my arm driving too fast to get away from a girl that was swearing at me...I drove right in to the rubber tire bumpers that put around the track. I broke my wrist. The dude that ran the track came over to me after I screamed (not from pain yet, but from the terribly disfigured wrist I looked down to find). He says, "Did somebody lose their watch?" Yeah, dummy...I did...it fell off of my BROKEN WRIST!!!
I had to wear a cast all the way to my shoulder for 4 weeks, which left me on the sidelines cheering. : (
I had lots of boyfriends my 1st year of high school. Too many. But still that mean one from jr. high kept creeping back in.
I had a sub French teacher one day. I didn't really like him. The next day when I walked in to class I just took my seat and didn't really scan the room. My teacher asked how the previous day went...well I went on and on about how he spit when he talked, he was goofy and a little weird. She had a horrified yet amused look on her face as she pointed behind me. Yep, you guessed it, in the desk behind me sat the substitute teacher. He was sitting in on the class to see how she taught (he was a student teacher!)!!! I was horrified. That was the year that I (mostly) learned to keep my mouth shut.
I started babysitting pretty regularly this year. I had babysat my 8th grade year, but not consistently. My freshman year I babysat almost every weekend and usually Friday and Saturday nights. I loved kids and I LOVED making moolah!
That is about it.
Oh, one more story...My good friend Kristen M. made me pee my pants while walking out front of our high school. She was one of the funniest people, and she just killed me. Talk about embarrassing having to walk the 6 blocks home with my winter coat tied around my waist!! Aaahhh, good times.

8th Grade...
Wow! I was "going out" with a jerk. I continued to "go out" with him on and off until my Jr. year. I got really good grades my 8th grade year. I could NOT wait to be done with Jr. high. I really don't remember much else about 8th grade.
Here are a couple of VAGUE memories. I wore a bubble in my bangs. I went to the 8th grade dance. It was boring. I was a cheerleader (still LOVED it). I took a lot of walks with my friends as there wasn't much else to do in my small town. We roller skated in gym class. You could skip Ms. Hemmenway's entire English period just by asking to use the bathroom. She had no concept of time and so you could be gone all period and she wouldn't notice. I was an office assistant.
That is about it. I am sure a lot more happened to me or around me but I just can't recall.
