Baptism

Yesterday (Sunday Jan. 24, 2010) I was baptized.  I didn't grow up in a church that taught adult baptism, or willing baptism.  It took me some time to understand what exactly it had to do with me.  I had felt, though, for at least 2 years now, that I should be baptized.  You see, I don't so much believe that you have to be baptized to be a Christian, or to go to heaven when you pass.  However, I do believe that we are called to reach our full potential as Christians while we are here on Earth, and to do that baptism is key.

I want to do all that Christ has called me to do: be a great wife, a wonderful mother, sister, daughter, friend.  But above all I want to be a good example.  Someone that when others look at me can see the light and joy of the Lord and want to be near him as well.

Thank you to my husband, friends and family that encouraged me.  And thanks be to God!

Sooo Big!

I cannot believe how fast the time goes by, and how big my little ones are getting.  Max has been dragging (or should I say pulling) himself a long for weeks now.  In the past 2 weeks, though, he has started to pull himself up to kneeling and standing.  He has also mastered the step up to our kitchen...and I can't believe how quickly he can pull himself up there now!  Here  he is pulling himself up to his mirror...

He gets himself up to standing eventually, and he is always very proud of himself.
Max is just such a joy.  He is so easy going and calm, and just wants to be as big as his sister!

Lexi is getting so big, too.  We are potty training and for the most part she does really well.  We have our little glitch (daily) but she does wear "big girl underder".  For doing so well, and keeping her fingers out of her mouth she got to have her nails painted.

Are those the cutest little hands ever??  She LOVES her nails painted.  She couldn't stop looking at them.

I am trying my hardest to appreciate each milestone (but, oh, these terrible twos!).  Life just flies by!

A promise to my children, but even more to myself.

Lexi and Max,

I love you both so much.  Words and actions could never really do my feelings justice.  There is NOTHING in this world you could do to break that love.  With that being said, here are some promises I would like to make:

1.  I will never ever stop loving you, no matter what you do.
2.  You can ALWAYS tell me anything, if you can't confide in your parents, who can you confide in?
3.  I will always tell you how proud I am to be your parent.
4.  I will work hard to teach you the Word of the Bible and how to apply it to your life.
5.  I will work hard to be an example to you, not just a preacher.

The Lord has blessed me with you two little gifts, and while I have you I am going to appreciate, encourage, protect, and adore you.

The Lord never stops loving us, no matter what we do, how we mess up, or who we may hurt.  So, the least I can do is follow His example!  (I got that from my mom - your yia yia!)

Love,
Mommy

Snow Angels

So a couple of days ago we got about 8 inches of snow.  Lexi received to snow pants and boots for Christmas, so it was the perfect time to try them out!  Max had to have a nap, so he didn't get to enjoy the winter fun that Lexi and I participated in.  Also, as it was just Lex and myself, there was no one to take any pictures of me enjoying the snow!

Here is Lexi getting all geared up for the cold!

Here she is enjoying the snow:

Here are our snow angels, they are kind of hard to see.  The first one is both of ours, the last is just hers.  She is an angel!

This is what happens when you go to bed with wet hair around here!

I usually don't put her to bed with wet hair, but it was nap time and she was very tired.  This was the beautiful result!

Here are a few pictures of my sweet Max.  He is just such a love-able, loving little guy!
When he sleeps he sticks his little bum in the air...it is so cute.

Here he is trying to be just like Daddy!

He loves his big cousin.

They are lounging by the step to our kitchen...Lexi is mothering them by covering them with her blanket.  Max has now mastered pulling himself on to the step.

Max is finishing up his snack here.  He LOVES those little baby puff things.

I cannot believe Max is 8 months old already.  Time is flying by.  He is so sweet and easy-going.  He did have a little cold, then an ear infection.  It is so hard to watch him when he feels bad, especially because he normally is so easy going.  He got his first teeth a couple of months ago, and we have yet to see anymore.  He chews on EVERYTHING, so I am sure more are coming...I just wish they would pop through already, to give him some relief.

Even with Max not feeling so well, I am cherishing my time with my children.  I am so blessed to stay home with my babies.  I pray that the Lord continues to bless us and our home.

God Bless You!

Our WILD New Year's Eve!

This year for New Year's Eve we decided to do something fun for the kids (well the whole family, really!).  So, off to Chuck-E-Cheese we went!  Yep, you read right, Chuck-E-Cheese, we party it up right!
Max was under the weather that night, so he didn't have the best of times, but he did ride a ride (but I can 't scan that picture in).

Lexi LOVED everything about Chuck-E-Cheese, except for when Chuck came out and tried to shake her hand.  She wasn't having it!  Lexi loved the pizza, the singing, and the "play games"!!

We hope you all have a wonderful New Year filled with faith, happiness, and love.

I am stealing this last part from my sister-in-law (sorry, Hez!)

10 things to accomplish in 2010

1.  Read books to both of my kids every day (not just one kid a day!!)

2.  Lose the last 10 pounds!!!

3.  Continue to organize my house.

4.  Not let my "chores" get away from me!  Do something everyday!

5.  Join a library

6.  Forgive those that need forgiving in my life.

7.  Find an organization, or event to volunteer with or at.

8.  Limit my Facebooking to 5 times a week!  (This could be VERY hard)

9.  Take more pictures and videos of my beautiful little family.

10.  Read my Bible EVERYday!!

Wish me luck on these!

Happy New Year!

Christmas

Christmas time was a blast this year.  We stayed home on Christmas day so the kids (or mostly Lexi and Kev and I) could enjoy their new "stuff."  Here is a great shot of Lexi seeing her gifts from Santa:

Here is a picture of her "goods"!

Lexi & Max were hanging out in the Princess Tunnel...Max loved it just as much as Lexi...guess we have an idea of what to get him for next year!

Max got some pretty good stuff, too!

He was very happy with the "cookies" he received in his stocking.
What a cutie!

Lexi was probably more excited about the candy in her stocking than anything else!!

Here is Kevin with his stocking goodies.

We had such a wonderful Christmas.  We just hung out together all day and enjoyed our little family.  I am so blessed to have a wonderful husband, and two beautiful babies.  There is nothing I wouldn't do for my family!

Hope all of you had a wonderful Christmas as well!
