Christmas Eve traditions.

 We decided last year to really start making traditions for Christmas.  The first thing we decided on was to let the kids open a video every Christmas Eve that we would watch together.  This year was "It's A Meaningful Life" Veggie Tales movie.  Lexi ADORES Bob and Larry and Max is becoming a fast fan.  The movie was the perfect ending to a really fun night. 


First:  Daddy bought the kiddos some fun suckers.

After that:  we opened our Christmas Eve presents.

Here is a picture of the tree after Santa came and before the kids got to see it.  Santa doesn't wrap presents at our house...he just doesn't have time.  And Santa is so thoughtful as to make sure all his gifts are out of their packages and ready for play!

This year we started an advent tradition.  We read an advent book every night, well every night we were home, from Dec. 1st to Christmas day.  And after we read the advent book, the kids got to open one book that was wrapped under the tree.  THEY LOVED IT!  It was a great way to spend some time together without a screen and really brought us all a lot of joy.

Its the most wonderful time of the year...

I LOVE Christmas time.  I love the lights, the decorations, the food, the presents, the fellowship, did I mention the food??  I was whipping up a little baked spaghetti the other night and this is the shape the hamburger cooked in to:

 I think it was a sign of how much my family would LOVE the spaghetti...they devoured it.  Too bad I only took a picture of the hamburger heart, and didn't take a picture of the finished product!

We had the Christmas Service at our church a weekend early, so we got all dolled up for it.

 He does LOVE his sister. 

 Here is the greatest blessing I have received; my beautiful family.  They love me even when I am horrible, which I was this weekend!

 And here is one with Lexi and her beloved Zezee.  They matched for church, and Lexi was over the moon.  She loves to be just like Zez.

UN... DEUX... TROIS!!!!

Lexi is officially 3 years old today. (I fight tears as I say that)  We are so blessed with a wonderful, smart, funny, and caring daughter.  I thank the Lord everyday for the gift He has given us in Lexi.

We had a party over the weekend for all our parents, grandparents, and siblings.  That brings about a total of 30 people!!  Lexi had a blast, she is ALWAYS up for a party, especially if she is the one getting all the attention. : )

Thanksgiving 2010

I am thankful for:

A wonderful husband, who is the greatest dad, too!

Two beautiful children, who love each other very much.

The cutest little girl on the face of the planet.

 

The most handsome little boy in existence. 

 

The best little helpers a mommy could ask for!

 I am also thankful for my wonderful sisters, my beautiful mother, and dedicated dad, my awesome grandparents and extended family and friends.  (I just can't download that many pictures!)

Grandparents are the best.

My Mom & Dad asked if they could have our kiddos for a weekend in Nov.  OF COURSE YOU CAN!!
I sent them on their way Friday afternoon.  ( I only cried after they were out of sight...and only for a couple of minutes).  They are having the best time. 
They got to ride a train to a train cafe.  This cafe looks really neat, your food comes to your table on the car of a train set.  I will try to post pics from this place later.  They went to my parents' church, which Lexi remembered from the last time (which was Easter!!) and play in the toy room.
It is such a joy to hear them giggling and playing in the background when I speak to my Mom on the phone.  They just adore their Yia Yia and Opa, and I hope they always cherish their times with them.

My Girl Wonder

Lexi loves school.  Well, she thinks she loves school.  She has been to Sunday School and Bible school, but that is the extent of her "schooling."  A while back I bought her a Sesame Street PreSchool book so she could do "homework" like her cousins.  She LOVES it! 

About a month ago we started working on writing letters.  We practice some in the book and also practice her name.  I was writing my grocery list today and stepped in to the other room to put Max down for a nap.  When I came back out Lexi said, "I write my name, Mom."  I looked at my grocery list and this is what I saw:

I don't know about you, but I think that is pretty good.  I hope she keeps her thirst for knowledge!  I hope Max loves to learn as much as she does, too.  I am so proud of her!
